SADAKO BISHOUJO STATUE
Releasing March 2025 ¥19,800 (¥18,000 excl. tax)

Salle cato was in charge of the modeling.
They have worked on many different figures for us in the past, however, this was their first time working on the BISHOUJO series.

Her long black hair, a symbol of Japanese ghosts, has been given the full BISHOUJO treatment.

The hair has been sculpted to look as if it almost has a will of its own, rather than just blowing in the wind.

Plus, since this is a BISHOUJO figure, you can, of course, swap out the lonely face that peeks out through her hair with interchangeable parts.

The slightly upturned eye looking up at you almost feels like it's beckoning you in.

Also, it comes with an additional interchangeable face with a wide-eyed horror expression that strikes fear into the hearts of all those that meet her gaze.

A lot of thought was also put into her clothes.
Sadako's signature simple white dress was modeled in clear material.

The clear material creates an effect where the thin material of the dress, wet from the freezing well water.

Additionally, ancient Greek sculptures were referenced for the delicately sculpted wrinkles that cling to her wet body.

Her arms and legs that poke out from underneath the white dress are porcelain white from not seeing the sun for years on end.
The color combination is *chef's kiss*

This was Kotobukiya's first time experimenting with creating a more realistic human skin tone, rather than just making it pale.

Also, take a look at her nails.
From far away, they look like pink painted nails, but...

Up close, you can see that they have been destroyed from scratching and clawing at the walls of the well.

This time, we also opted for a pile of videotapes for the base, but it is absolutely packed with things I'd love to share.

You may be wondering what this photo is. They are plastic pieces used to make the metal mold of a certain part, but can you guess what that part may be?

-Here is a better look.

That's right. These are the reels and covers that go inside the tapes.

Initially, we just planned on painting them on, but by making them as separate parts, we were able to achieve more detail. More importantly, separating them meant we could mold the videotapes in a black PVC plastic that is closer to the real thing.

The base is composed of 42 individual tapes!

That means at least 42 people have been cursed by BISHOUJO Sadako...

Also, if you look close enough, there is one special tape in among the rest.
Get the figure for yourself to see if you can find it.

And for the strips of tape that look like they're the writhing embodiment of Sadako's curse, real magnetic tape was used.

A set of two 10-meter rolls come in a special videotape-shaped box.
Put the tape in the included bag, scrunch it up like you've got a grudge and feed it through the holes in the pile of tapes.

Use as much tape as you think is necessary to fully capture Sadako's psychic powers.
Here's an example with lots of tape.

With this, it's like your very own Sadako is going to pay you a visit.

We also have a 360° video of the figure as well, so check it out! We hope that you'll be able to feel Sadako's immense ghostly energy from whatever angle you view her.

The manufacturer pre-order deadline is September 17!
Make sure to pre-order by then if you don't want to miss out.
